I’m a Fan of Sal Khan

by Reihan Salam

My latest column for The Daily is a celebration of Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy. I begin with an awkward admission, which is that math wasn’t my strong suit as a student in grade school. What I didn’t add is that I kept struggling with math all the way through my senior year in high school, when I barely passed Calculus. Things become a bit easier for me as an undergraduate, when math concepts started to make sense to me through the lens of economics. But I vividly remember math being a complete nightmare for me, and I wonder what might’ve happened had I found something like Khan Academy when I was a youth.
