Peter Orszag on Tight Oil

President Obama’s former OMB director suggests that the substantial increase in recoverable oil reserves might mitigate rising energy prices. What he doesn’t discuss is how the Obama administration’s efforts to sharply increase the tax burden on new drilling efforts might impact the domestic energy landscape, though he is presumably familiar with the case for and against.
