A Middling Milestone

Based on this morning’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of Americans employed in the private sector finally exceeded the number that were working at the previous economic peak, before the 2008 recession. There’s good news about the labor market, but of course it’s awful it’s taken this long:
