The Obama-mas Choir Sings ‘Home for the Holidays’
The White House organizes some progressive proselytizing for Christmas.

They just don’t know when to quit. Consumed with the singular task of reelecting Barack Obama, progressives across the country will use the holiday season to propagandize their conservative relatives and friends. White House elves are directing the re-education Christmas camp efforts.

On Tuesday, the Obama 2012 campaign released an instructional video titled “Home for the Holidays: Share Why You’re Working to Re-elect President Obama.” Instead of relaxing with loved ones, the president’s monomaniacal campaign staff and volunteers provide “pointers” and “strategies” for fellow progressives to convert their “stubborn” families.

Not coincidentally, the operatives at MoveOn.org — funded by Obama donor George Soros — spearheaded a similar holiday re-programming effort at Thanksgiving. Headlined, “Your Conservative Uncle,” the group urged supporters (and e-mailed public-school teachers across the country whether they approved of the message or not) to “correct” family members who watch Fox News or listen to Rush Limbaugh.

Hark, hear the talking points.

The slickly produced Obama video spotlights testimonials from exasperated young people speaking condescendingly of their Republican-voting fathers and grandmothers. Obama, says one, is the “politician of my generation.” He’s a “people’s man,” preaches another. Those who disagree are ignorant, “stuck in their ways,” and “works in progress,” the campaign drones complain.

“If the conversation at the dinner table turns to politics over the holidays,” they advise, “don’t just quickly change the subject. As you head home this weekend, think about how you’ll steer the discussion to the progress we’ve made over the past three years — from health care to ending the war in Iraq — and why the people you’re passing the mashed potatoes to should support President Obama in 2012.”

If those people happen to be medical-device makers hit by hidden Obamacare taxes or small-business owners still wondering why Big Labor cronies got regulatory waivers while they didn’t, the mashed potatoes might rightly end up somewhere other than on guests’ plates.

Team Obama and their acolytes mock conservative family members who won’t sing from their hymnbook, but fail to address the commander-in-chief’s own boy-in-the-bubble syndrome. The video also whitewashes away mounting left-flank gripes — like those of former White House cheerleader and Hollywood liberal activist Matt Damon, who this week challenged the president’s, er, manhood.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grass-roots level,” Damon told Elle magazine. “One of them said to me: ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.’ . . . You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.”

"a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."

Mr Damon has it exactly backwards. Since he spends his professional life regurgitating other peoples' words, one ought not be surprised.

The problem with BHO is that he has shamelessly promoted an agenda that no one wants and spends all of his capital on ramming it through by whatever means necessary. Health Care reform, anyone? Give GM to the unions, anyone?

The man has too many balls, not too few.

What people like Damon don't understand is that having "real balls" is what it takes to do hard things like stick to the Constitution and limit the size of government when surrounded by a welfare culture.

No, real balls is what it takes to eliminate the welfare culture -- by any means necessary.

BO has no stones...his ONLY major initiatives were due to veto proof majorities in both houses and these were farmed out to Nancy and the awful Reid as he mainly watched the lib/progs run roughshod over the Constitution.

Since the House flipped he has been a whiney blamer in love with vacations, reading campaign speeches, and his reflection in the mirror.

But stones? Nah, he is a narcissistic coward.

Obama's holiday campaign sounds eerily reminiscent of Germany in the mid 30"s. Spread the propaganda my children.

.....say what you will about the fascist left but what they do works.....I have yet to see a poll where those who say they are liberal is anywhere near the number of those who claim to be conservative, yet liberals weild more political power......America is finally too divided to stand.

The best reply from the "arrogant conservative" father or uncle is simply - What if we just aborted you from the getgo?

"This is the time to celebrate the gift of life."
Obama, remember, thinks that he IS the gift of life.
Thank you, Ms. Malkin. We'll be praying for your family.

As for touting Obama's "achievements" around the dinner table, there's a huge problem with that strategy. His failures are occuring real-time. The joblessness is being accelerated as we speak via the EPA's ruling on emissions. Dodd Frank regulations are resulting in increased terminations in the financial services industry. Iraq looks to be falling apart days after our untimely pull out.
It takes a lot of imagination (and willful blindness) to speak of achievements at this particular time.

Most of the liberal members of my extended family know that I am a staunch conservative. If they choose to bring up politics I am not going to be the one to back down. I am fluent with the issues and I will stand my ground. They will not convert me, but I may in the end alter their world view.

Do not back down. Not now, not ever. Giving into the liberal agenda and allowing them to dominate the conversation is how this nation and western civilization got to the point that it is now.

There aren't too many leftists in my family, and those who are keep quiet around me because they know they will end up stammering and unable to answer simple questions. In the name of comity, I observe the unspoken truce as long as they do.

Propaganda videos giving instruction on converting your foolish and stubborn relatives over the holidays? What's next, revolutionary opera? Communes and collectives? Backyard blast furnaces?

Sounds like the "Great Leap Forward" 2.0.

I don't think it's a matter of testicular fortitude...big or small 'uns don't matter. In regards to Obama, it's the fact that he is so rigidly stuck to his ideology that he can't shake loose of his Progressivism even it it's for his own good...or better still, the good of the nation.

The nonsense you hear from brainwashed (and usually lightly fluff dried!) Obamites is the same mental clatter that was heard from the Occupiers -- mindless repetition of the drivel from a single source. In Obama's case, that single source is focus-grouped and massaged into a Zero-calorie message for the consumption of empty-headed drones seeking the ultimate in PC fulfillment.

If you want another example of this mindless adulation, just turn to N. Korea and look at the dopes all teary-eyed over the "loss" of a tyrant so inhumane he almost makes Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pool Pot look like Shriners. Yet the hungry peasants stand and wail over their Dear Leader. Unfortunately the same thing goes here in the US. The fey pupils in Indoctrination U are so impressionable and so craving of a cause that they embrace the notion of Obama as though he were deity.

Those of us with two or more working brain cells to rub together know this imperfect and ineffectual man is less deity and more demon. But some folks have to learn the hard way...and if 2.75 years of this poseur hasn't been enough...then his next four years won't be enough for them either. They're smitten, regardless. This tells me that the Obamites are perhaps, after Jim Jones' crew, the most dangerous suicide cult the world has known.

God help us all. God Bless America. Merry Christmas!!!

Sounds like a lesson from Mao's China or 1984.

Most of the people I have spoken to (in the target age range for these conversations--as am I) have confessed that they erred in 2008 and would neither vote for BHO and possibly nor for any Democratic candidate ever.

One thing that stood out to me at Bill Buckley's passing was how he lived out conservatism: politics is a necessary evil of life, not an all-consuming obsession. The stories that poured in about him from those who were fortunate enough to know him personally always revolved around the activities and subjects outside of politics that Buckley enjoyed. It seemed that if you had the good fortune of being invited to the Buckleys' for dinner, the last subject to come up would be politics.

Yes, Matt Damon is who you should be listening to.

Also, that horrible Obama had the gall to spend part of his Christmas day with those awful soldiers that defend our liberties -- what a marxist!

And all this happening while conservative hopefuls spam the phones of Iowans on Christmas day with messages of hate towards millions of Americans disguised as "Christian love."

No, I'll pass.

"messages of hate"?

You should have passed on your own message of hate.
