Anne D. Neal is president of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, nonprofit, educational organization committed to academic freedom, excellence and accountability at America's colleges and universities. From 1990 to 1992, she served as General Counsel and Congressional Liaison of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Prior to joining NEH, Ms. Neal specialized in the First Amendment at the New York City law firm of Rogers & Wells. She is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College with an A.B. in American History and Literature and received her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.
