As part of his campaign to defeat freshman Rep. Dina Titus and win a House seat back for the Republicans, Dr. Joe Heck is on an “educational tour” of businesses in NV-3.
He kicked off the campaign with a visit to a foster-care home that was recently forced to layoff employees, and has also visited an aspiring biodiesel company and a local YMCA.
This weekend, BATTLE ‘10 caught up with Heck at a Midas auto shop in Las Vegas where, spokesperson Mari Nakashima joked, he had just finished changing some brakes “under supervision.”

Heck said his focus on blue-collar jobs and business is an effort to show his concern for Nevada’s high unemployment rate and his commitment to supporting policy that helps businesses grow.
“While Nevada carries the burden of the highest unemployment in the nation, I refuse to sit back and watch Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi continue to throw money at our problems yielding no positive results,” said Heck. ”A return to prosperity can only begin with a rejuvenation of our private sector and small business community.”
