A new Sunshine State News poll of over 1,000 likely voters is pure gold for GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio. The survey shows him up by 14 points over Charlie Crist and Kendrick Meek in a 43-29-23 race. Rubio even beats Crist among independent voters — normally seen as a stronghold for the governor.

In addition, Crist holds a six-point lead over Meek in a poll with a three-point margin of error. These numbers suggest that the boost Meek claims he has gotten since winning the Democratic primary has panned out, whereas Crist’s hope that Democrats would coalesce around him has not.
