President Bush, speaking today in New Port Richey, Fla.: “I'm proud of my running mate, Dick Cheney. (Cheers, applause.) Now look, I admit it, he doesn't have the waviest hair in the race. (Laughter.) I didn't pick him because of his hairdo. (Laughter.) I picked him because of his judgment, his experience. I picked him because he can get the job done for the American people. (Cheers, applause.)”

That may be a stock line, but today it got a lot funnier. Can you imagine Cheney primping like Edwards? (The Los Angeles Times has the whole transcript.)
