Invoking the lofty names if not the martial spirit of Democratic warriors of ages past, John Edwards spoke in Hibbing, Minnesota yesterday. President Bush spoke in Rochester this afternoon (click here for the Star Tribune report).
Tomorrow John Kerry will speak at a rally next to the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. Vice President Cheney will also be in the state later this week, and my party sources tell me that final big event (unannounced as yet) will take place next week.
All but one of the recent public polls show President Bush trailing Kerry in Minnesota. Nevertheless, the level of activity directed at the state by both sides suggests that, whatever the polls say, the race here is too close to call.
