Yesterday, the Quad Cities turned into surrogate city as both Senate Majority Leader Bill First and New York Governor George Pataki campaigned here on behalf of the Bush-Cheney ticket. Frist hosted a physicians’ roundtable where he met with local doctors to discuss healthcare policy. Pataki rallied with a couple hundred GOP regulars at a restaurant. It wasn’t lost on any who attended that both have ’08 aspirations and that when the polls close on Tuesday evening the campaign for the Iowa Caucuses officially starts.
