NEW HAMPSHIRE: BUSH TAKES EARLY LEAD [Mike Tuffin 11/02 07:43 AM]

Just after midnight in a pair of tiny mountain villages, 57 New Hampshire citizens cast the first Election Day votes in the nation. The tally: 35 votes for President Bush, 21 for John Kerry, one for Ralph Nader. The president's early lead came from the northern New Hampshire communities of Hart's Location and Dixville Notch. These picturesque hamlets have been casting the nation's first votes since 1948. Every registered voter in both communities voted. The bad news is that thet president's margin of victory is less than it was in 2000 when Bush won with 38 votes, Gore received 18 and Nader one. It seems three previous Bush voters have switched to Kerry.
