Chris: I voted in my new precinct this morning in Ross Township, and no one requested ID from me. Longish lines, but lots of Kerry bumper stickers in the parking lot.
Schumann confirmed over telephone that while he was a new voter at the precinct and had his ID with him, no one went out of their way to look at his ID to verify things. This is the third voting locations in the Pittsburgh area where Pennsylvania law requiring ID from new precinct voters has not been followed.
Important! New Federal and State laws require voters who appear to vote in a precinct for the first time to provide election officials with proof of identification.
