Just saw the blurb on Kerry Spot about low turnout in New Hampshire. Not true. I just got off the phone with the Sec. of State's office. Turnout is high throughout the entire state. I asked the person I spoke to "How high?" Her response: "High. High. High." It normally takes me 8 minutes to get to work. I drive by two polling places on the way. This afternoon it took me more than 20 minutes because of traffic jams at each polling place. Parking lots were so full police were directing traffic. And this was in the rain.
Here is how well-oiled the Dem. machine is in NH this year. I am on the Dem. call list because I voted in the Dem. primary in January (registered independents can do that in NH). Our phone rang off the hook today. One call immediately after another. All day. I took my son for a walk this afternoon, and when we got back there were two people on the porch. I said, "Can I help you?" They turned around, revealing Kerry/Edwards stickers on their jackets. They asked for me by name and said they just wanted to make sure I got out to vote today.
Turnout is big, and the Democrats are getting their voters out. I will be very surprised if Bush wins NH.
