PA: VOTER INTIMIDATION IN SOMERSET COUNTY'S CENTRAL CITY PRECINCT [Chris Lilik 11/02 07:26 PM]
According to a reliable source with the Bush campaign, a gang of seven Democrat committeemen and one Democrat committeewoman intimidated everyone who wanted to enter Somerset County's Central City polling area into giving the group all their personal information.
A staffer from the Bush campaign was sent to check out allegations of voter intimidation after a GOP runner sent to the location was given a hard time. The Democrat gang allegedly told the runner that no Republican watchers were inside (there were in fact two inside) and told him they would hold the food for him in case Republican watchers showed up.
"They were scary looking people," said the Bush staffer. "They made you feel as soon as you walked in there that you had to give your name, and where you were from."
When told that this type of activity was illegal and against the law by the Bush staffer, the committeeman woman said: "this is my law."
The Bush staffer contacted the local sheriff's department to investigate the situation taking place in the voting precinct's foyer. No word on what happened next.
