Committee Vote on DAG Nominee

According to BLT, this morning the Senate Judiciary Committee, by a vote of 14 to 5, approved the nomination of David Ogden to be Deputy Attorney General. The five negative votes were from Republican senators Coburn, Cornyn, Grassley, Hatch, and Sessions. (Republicans Specter, Graham, and Kyl voted in favor of Ogden.)

As I summarized here (see also my posts here, here, and here), Ogden, like other top DOJ picks, gives ample evidence of being hard-Left on a broad array of culture-war issues—for example, obscenity and pornography, abortion, homosexuality, and racial preferences—and in favor of the judiciary’s role in imposing the Left’s agenda on those issues.
