Thomas More on Trial

This Friday and Saturday, November 7 and 8, the Thomas More Studies Conference at the University of Dallas will be holding a conference titled “Thomas More on Trial:  Law and Conscience in More’s Last Letters and Trial Accounts”.  Among the many distinguished panel participants is Fifth Circuit judge Edith Jones.  CLE credit—10-1/2 hours—is available.  The conference program is here, and registration and other information is here.

St. Thomas More has the distinction, I’ve been told, of being the only practicing lawyer who has been canonized.  As a reader who reminded me of the conference wrote, “Immersion in the life of one who stood for truth against power and died the King’s good servant but God’s first seems an appropriate post-election activity!”
