When I return from vacation next week, I may offer more extended comment on Barack Obama’s selection of Joe Biden to be his VP running mate.  For now, I’ll simply note that Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee for most of my 2-1/2 years as a committee staffer for Senator Hatch, and my exposure to his set of, er, abilities made even more amusing the fact that he had sought the presidency in 1988.
