More on Lieberman as McCain’s VP Candidate?

Text

In addition to all the excellent judicial nominees that Senator Lieberman voted against (or filibustered), it’s worth noting that Lieberman also voted against President Bush’s nomination of conservative icon Ted Olson to serve as Solicitor General.  Olson was confirmed by a narrow margin and did an outstanding job as SG.  And Olson now co-chairs John McCain’s Justice Advisory Committee.

If John McCain wants his statements about the Supreme Court to be taken seriously by legal conservatives, it’s elementary that he can’t pick a VP candidate who is hostile to legal conservatives, including to his own top advisor on legal-policy and judicial issues.
