Re: Lieberman as McCain’s VP Candidate?

Text

Senator Lieberman’s record is markedly more pro-abortion than two of the senators being talked about as leading VP candidates on the Democratic ticket, Joe Biden and Evan Bayh.  Both Biden and Bayh supported the federal ban on partial-birth abortion that Lieberman voted against.  And in 2004 Lieberman was one of 11 original cosponsors of the so-called Freedom of Choice Act bill—along with such pro-abortion extremists as Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton.  Among the “findings” in the bill that Lieberman embraced:  “The Roe v. Wade decision carefully balanced the rights of women to make important reproductive decisions with the state’s interest in potential life.”  Ah, yes, such a careful balance.
