You Gotta Love This Roberts Guy


Chief Justice Roberts is already compiling a record as a superb prose stylist, as you can see below in the passage Ed Whelan reproduces from a Roberts dissent issued today.  But I wouldn’t have guessed that he would employ a play on words in Latin, reversing the hoary old tag nunc pro tunc to make it read tunc pro nunc–suggesting that the Court believes it can alter the past.  Bravo!

I think it was that Catholic education . . .
