A Case for All Reasons

Peter Lawler at NLT draws our attention to an LA Times op-ed urging the Supreme Court to uphold the race-based school assignment programs in Louisville and Seattle as consistent with Brown v. Board of Education.  Peter puts his finger on the problem with Brown itself, as well as with the article in question, written by a Berkeley law professor.  And may I say that I can hardly imagine an organization I would less like to be associated with than one named the “Chief Justice Earl Warren Institute on Race, Ethnicity and Diversity” (of which the author is co-director)?  But then I’m sure I can fear no invitations to participate in its doings.
