Is it really true, as the AP reports Justice Scalia as saying, that it is impossible to live in New York City and “raise a family” on a mere $165,200—the current salary of a federal district court judge? Or is it just that it seems so, when compared to what attorneys can make who might be under consideration for a judgeship?
