Pending Confirmation Fights

Text

It appears increasingly likely that the Senate will confirm Brett Kavanugh to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, perhaps even before the Memorial Day recess.  The outlook for Judge Terrence Boyle, first nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit over a decade ago, and then renominated by President Bush in 2001, is much cloudier .  Meanwhile, the White House continues to drag its feet in the nomination process. Despite claims Republicans want to make judicial nominations a political issue, there are numerous appellate vacancies still awaiting nominees.
