Political Giving by ABA Review Committee Members

by Jonathan H. Adler

Professor Bainbridge has dug up the political contributions of the members of the ABA committee that reviews judicial nominees, and downgraded Brett Kavanaugh. His conclusion:

If the political leanings of the non-givers track those of the givers, Democrats may hold a 10-5 advantage on the committee. Also, note that while two of the Republicans made just a single contribution, all but one of the 6 Democrats made multiple contributions, from which we might reasonably infer a greater degree of partisan commitment on the part of the Democrats on the committee than that of the Republican minority.
