Teddy Kennedy To Vote No!

Senator Kennedy’s statement explaining his decision to vote (surprise!) against Judge Alito’s confirmation to the Supreme Court reflects the same mendacity and bullying that Kennedy committed at the confirmation hearing. Yet having devoted his three rounds of questioning to the trivial issues of Vanguard and Concerned Alumni of Princeton, Kennedy does not even mention them in his statement. He does, though, dare to complain that the hearing shows “the need for change in the way we learn a nominee’s views on our laws and the Constitution.” Yes, Senator, if you would ask more relevant, honest, and informed questions, that would be a good thing.

All that Kennedy’s performance at the hearing and his statement today demonstrate is that he is grossly unfit to assess Judge Alito’s qualifications.
