Dershowitz on Alito

by Jonathan H. Adler

Alan Dershowitz thinks that a Justice Alito will be very conservative — “Bork-nice” — favoring “big government, big corporations, big religions and big majorities over ordinary citizens, consumers, minorities, religious dissidents, immigrants, persons suspected of crime and disenfranchised voters.” Of course, Dershowitz believes this because he believes all justices vote their political preferences, and are merely politicians in robes. Interestingly enough, he also does not believe Alito would cast the deciding vote to overturn Roe, but would join such a decision in which he was not the deciding vote.
