The Malpractice Settlements

Here is an interesting article on the malpractice suits Miers’ law firm settled while she was managing partner. As the article notes, there is no evidence that Miers had anything to do with the work that was challenged. What is interesting, however, is that Miers should have been responsible for setting up the firm’s internal safeguards to reduce the likelihood of malpractice claims. This is a matter that I would expect some Senators to explore further in the hearings. (LvHB)
