One Way to Find Out

I apologize in advance to all of you who conclude that my innocence is showing again. But to those (the president?) who are so sure that a credentialed conservative cannot be confirmed, I say: there is one way to find out.

I note that there is a big difference between “moderate” Republican Senator X whispering in the president’s ear that Edith Jones (for example) is a no-go, and actually voting against her on the floor of the Senate. I note also that Republican presidents have means available to them to make it costly for party senators to break ranks — if the president is willing to fight like hell for his nominee.
