Re: Obama and the D.C. Circuit


I’ll add that I hear that longtime New York solicitor general (and Eliot Spitzer protégée) Caitlin Halligan now has the inside track on the nomination to the D.C. Circuit vacancy.  Halligan recently left Weil, Gotshal & Manges to become general counsel to the Manhattan district attorney’s office.  She’s also a former law clerk to Justice Breyer and to D.C. Circuit judge Patricia Wald.  Based on her getting her undergraduate degree in 1988, I’d guess that she’s 43 or 44 years old.
