Matthew J. Franck is chairman and professor of political science at
Radford University in Radford, Va., where he has taught courses in constitutional
law, American politics, and political philosophy since 1989. He is the author of
Against the Imperial Judiciary: The Supreme Court vs. the Sovereignty of the
People (1996) and co-editor and co-author, with Richard G. Stevens, of
Sober As a Judge: The Supreme Court and Republican Liberty (1999). He
is married to Professor Gwen O. Brown of Radford’s communication department.
Their lives are run by a lovable but bossy Shetland sheepdog.
