The Campaign Spot is the logical conclusion of a progression of NRO presidential-election blogs that included The Kerry Spot (later known as TKS) and The Hillary Spot. Historically, it was at the point when the presidential nomination of Hillary Clinton no longer appeared to be a fait accompli — due to the dramatic emergence of the Obama machine — that a permanent (and more flexible) NRO election blog was established in The Campaign Spot.
