The Clinton’s Faux Modesty On Their Wealth


Bill Clinton, contemplating life as First Husband:

“I hope I will have saved enough by then, if she is elected, that we can just, you know, pay our bills and — I’d like to keep our two homes, our home in Washington, our home in Chappaqua,” Mr. Clinton added. “And otherwise, I’d like to devote whatever time she wants to whatever she wants me to do, and I should be able to have probably two to three days a week to do in the foundation. I certainly hope so.”

Hopefully, they will be able to get by on the $30 million or so in speaking fees that he earned from 2001 to 2005. Not counting his book deal. Not counting her book deal. Not counting the fact that as president, the first couple would get a nice white house to live in, and almost all of their transportation paid for as taxpayer. Not counting…
