Edwards: “How can it be any clearer that you cannot negotiate with the president?”

Text

John Edwards sure enjoys being outside of Congress. It’s not just the sweet big paychecks from hedge funds; it’s that he gets to play back seat driver and tell people how he would hold such a hard line in Iraq funding bill negotiations if he were in charge of the Senate. I particularly liked this line:

“How can it be any clearer that you cannot negotiate with the president?” Edwards asked. “You certainly can’t negotiate with him on an issue of this magnitude and this importance.”

Negotiating with Syria and Iran, that’s okay. Negotiating with the president? That’s out of the question…

I guess he’s too busy promising to look into the controlled demolition of WTC 7…
