‘If you won’t consider the sensibilities of Muslims, you’re not going to build dialog.’

The official Twitter account of the Park51 Lower Manhattan community-center project — colloquially known as the Ground Zero Mosque — has told Fox News’s Greg Gutfeld, in response to his proposal to open a bar catering to gay Muslims near the site:

You’re free to open whatever you like. If you won’t consider the sensibilities of Muslims, you’re not going to build dialog.

Say, fellows . . . if you won’t consider the sensibilities of non-Muslims, you’re not going to build dialog, either.

We now have the mosque organizers explicitly demanding a standard of behavior from Gutfeld that they themselves refuse to meet for others.

Americans are expected to live according to a higher standard than everyone else on the planet, to step up and do those things others refuse to do. And in gratitude for our efforts, the non-doers call us arrogant because we meet and often exceed the expectations others set for us. The building of the mosque at Ground Zero is just more of the same. Non-Muslim Americans who oppose the building of a mosque at Ground Zero are insensitive, while Muslims who want to build the mosque there are not subject to the same sensitivity standard.

I really do like this idea. A homosexual bar for Muslims. Fight fire with fire. I think it is time that we introduced to the Muslim community the idea that you can have yours but everybody else gets theirs too. For too long a significant number of American Muslims have been unwilling to really assimilate into the greater US culture and expect everyone to leave open a wide path for them. Let them feel the pain christian churches feel with zoning and building permit issues, and see art like P**s Mohammed and the 12th Iman in human excrement. I mean, that is what it means to be an American - right?

How about a real nice kosher NY style deli in the same area? And then also a very posh, up to complete Manhatten standards, of an upscale dog kennel.

And if they want washing stations in various communities I want giant crucifixes right next to them, so that Christians may pray and we can "understand one another".

We could come up with all sorts of great ideas - including arresting some of their clergy for hate crimes! Keep it coming folks.

This "mosque" is a military psyop attack on our country. In retaliation, I suggest an ariel bombardment of Riyadh with Baywatch DVD's.

Exactly right, JEM. Gutfeld's idea is just offensive enough to be truly American. Love it or leave it, Islam.
