Harry Reid Adopts Sharron Angle’s Position on the Ground Zero Mosque

This morning, the campaign of GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle issued this statement:

Our forefathers made it very clear in the U.S. Constitution that people of all faiths have the right to practice their religion here in America.  As with all religions, Muslims have the right to worship in New York or Nevada or any state in our nation.

However, by supporting the construction of a mosque at Ground Zero, President Obama has once again ignored the wishes of the American people, this time at the expense of victims of 9/11 and their families.  They have said overwhelmingly that the location of this mosque is an affront to the memories of their loved ones who were murdered by Islamic extremists on 9/11.  Their wishes should be respected.

As the Majority Leader, Harry Reid is usually President Obama’s mouthpiece in the U.S. Senate, and yet he remains silent on this issue.   Reid has a responsibility to stand up and say no to the mosque at Ground Zero or once again side with President Obama — this time against the families of 9/11 victims. America is waiting.

Now we learn that indeed, Harry Reid opposes the construction of the mosque at the location in question.

Sharron Angle leads, Harry Reid follows.

Any Democratic donors want their money back?

Quite honestly, while I don't usually agree with The President, he was absolutely right, by saying, they do have a legal right to build their mosque on "private property." Which is what makes this such a tough call for anyone.

Let's not forget, our Federal Constitution only says, The "Federal Government" can not infringe on our religion; however, states do have far more discretion.

Honestly, the best thing The President could have said, is, legally, they have a right to put the mosque there, but I trust that the local officials of the state will make a prudent decision.

All Bloomberg needs to say is, can we please relocate the mosque a few miles away? With that, it would be case closed! All parties, and The Constitution, are respected!

But they don't need one a few miles away - it already exists.

This is simple - say you recognize their right, but their actions do not support their stated goals. The building of the mosque will be a provocation and will do nothing to promote goodwill and understanding. For the overall advancement of the backers stated purpose, it would be in their interest to build elsewhere.

This isn't tough to do, it is quite simple.

Well, you may be presuming that they have provocative intentions! I am not doubting that they do, nor am I thrilled about a mosque near Ground Zero, but I am trying to look at this legally, as well as emotionally.

Consider this:
If there is any terrorist funding behind this mosque, then it should NOT be built anywhere in The United States! The question is, how do we find that out for sure? And, how do local officials find this out without looking like it is a religious witch-hunt?

Ground Zero aside, I think, many Americans, and rightfully so, are concerned about the radicalized sect of this religion.

The government isn't admitting it, but they know they are in a precarious situation! They don't want to infringe on a certain religion, but if any terrorist attack is perpetuated from within one of these mosques, they know they will have to answer to the people!

Perhaps there needs to be a reasonable way to investigate all of their funding, prior to construction? That would be one way for Muslims, in America, to be accountable, if they want to practice their faith freely and without incident.

Even if they are allowed to build it, let's see if they can find ONE self respecting AMERICAN worker who'll help with the construction.......
