Altschuler’s Up! No, Wait, He’s Down! No, Wait, He’s Up Again!

After leading by several hundred, and then trailing by a bit more than a dozen, Randy Altschuler is in the lead again in New York’s 1st congressional district. This vote count is maddening:

As of 10:30 a.m., Randy Altschuler has re-taken the lead from Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) by 10 votes in absentee ballot counting, Altschuler spokesman Rob Ryan reports.

Altschuler gained 24 votes today, Ryan said. At the end of the day Friday, Bishop led by 15 according to his camp, and 14 according to Altschuler’s. Bishop’s people have yet to return our calls this morning.

UPDATE: And now… Bishop by 69. Tell you what, I’ll let you know when this looks like it’s being decided.

This is likely to keep going like this - I understand they still have several THOUSAND absentee ballots to count - all of them from Brookhaven.
