Get Ready For One More Round of ‘I’m Not a Witch’ Stories

It may not have won her the election, but Yale University’s associate librarian has deemed the opening line of Christine O’Donnell’s first television ad the most memorable quote of the year. She and Sarah Palin made the top four:

1. (TIE) “I’m not a witch.” Christine O’Donnell, television advertisement, Oct. 4.

1. (TIE) “I’d like my life back.” Tony Hayward, comment to reporters, May 30.

3. “If you touch my junk, I’m gonna have you arrested.” airline passenger John Tyner, remark to Transportation Security Administration worker at San Diego airport, Nov. 13, 2010

4. “Don’t retreat. Instead — reload!” Sarah Palin, Tweet, March 23.

I didn't like O'Donnell, but picking "I'm not a witch" as the most memorable quote is incredibly lame. Obviously, she was just trying to poke fun at herself and make light of the situation. She didn't actually think that the voters thought she was a witch. Just a little bit of self-deprecation ; people do it all the time. As such, it hardly qualifies as the most memorable quote of the year.

Doesn't this librarian have a day job that he needs to get back to?

Most memorable of the decade: #7 -- "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it."

I'm sure Alan Grayson had a quote for us. Maxine Waters is always good for a doozie or two, too.

Palin credits "Don't retreat - reload" as a time-honored piece of advice her Dad gave her.

Scott Brown's "It's not the Kennedy seat, it's the people's seat" didn't make the cut? Seriously?

I'm not an O'Donnell fan, but a Yale librarian should know that her remark about the first amendment was correct.
