Rory Reid for U.S. House in Nevada?

Nevada senator Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, is thinking of running for Congress in 2012. He lost the Nevada governor’s race in November to Republican Brian Sandoval.

Nevada gains a House seat this year, so it would give Reid a competitive district and open seat, and the state is likely to get a lot of attention from the Obama reelection campaign as well.

Remember when Jack Carter was going to be the next Senator from Nevada.

Depending on how the redistricting goes, he might have to run against Dina Titus in the primary. She lost to Dr. Joe Heck in Nevada's 3rd district last year, and wants to run again.

Rumors are that both the Speaker of the state house and the majority leader in the state senate (both Democrats) want the new seat for themselves.
