Even This Guy Hated the Cornhusker Kickback!

Maybe I’m just a fan of humor, but this strikes me as one of the more enjoyable web ads in a long time:

The gist is that somewhere in Nebraska, the most gullible and special-deal-obsessed guy in the state could recognize that the Cornhusker Kickback was a bad deal.

The ad is for Nebraska attorney general Jon Bruning, who is running against Sen. Cornhusker Kickback Ben Nelson.

Sen. Ben Nelson: "I am shocked, SHOCKED to learn there is Gambling in this Establishment!"

Lobbyist: "Here are your winnings sir."

Sen. Ben Nelson: "Thank you."

Go Nebraska. Now if we voters in FL can only get rid of our Senator "High Speed Rail" Nelson too, we might be able to accomplish something in the Senate.

But is Bruning just another Lindsay Graham in the making? NE Republicans need to make sure that they are replacing Sen. Kickback with a conservative.

To the person who wonders if Jon Bruning is just another Lindsay Graham-don't worry. He was one of the most outspoken conservatives in the Legislature, frequently sparring with Ernie Chambers, the legislatures most well-known liberal and has been a solid conservative as Attorney General as well. Some people are trying to make an issue of liberal opinion columns he wrote in law school at the University of Nebraska, but that was 20 years ago. He certainly isn't the first person whose politics changed as they got older and wiser.

The GOP has created a budget crisis in every state because they refuse to balance any budget.
