Meet Jane Corwin, and Nudge Cuomo While You’re at It.

Jane Corwin, the GOP nominee in New York’s 26th congressional district, now has a web site.

What she doesn’t have yet is a special-election date.

As we saw in the 29th district last cycle, where Eric Massa suddenly resigned and the district was left unrepresented for the better part of the year, the governor of New York is not legally obligated to recognize the seat as vacant on any particular timetable. Once the governor, now Andrew Cuomo, recognizes the absence, a special election must be held within 30 to 40 days.

Ahem, Governor. Lee resigned February 9.

Pardon my cynicism, but I suspect that if this were a Democratic-leaning district, the vacancy would have been recognized by now.
