The Biggest Post-OBL Poll Bump for Obama Is . . . 11 Points?

The New York Times headline declares, “For Obama, Big Rise in Poll Numbers After Bin Laden Raid,” and then we read the story and learn it jumped from 46 percent to 57 percent.

Eleven percentage points is a significant jump, but . . . as others have noted, after 9/11, Pres. George W. Bush’s approval went from 51 percent to 86 percent.

Other polls have shown jumps of nine points and one point.
