Instead of opening to its regular home page, www.whitehouse.gov – the official website of the office of the presidency, not the 2012 Obama campaign site — now asks for your e-mail first. Skipping it is an option, of course.
But this way visitors can get “periodic updates from President Obama and other administration officials.”
Whew! Thank goodness they’re just “periodic updates” and none of those messages will be aimed at persuading Americans to reelect the president!
Only works the first time you go to the site. The next time it bypasses the signup "splash" screen by setting a "cookie".
What's the deal with Obama's pic on the splash screen? What is he looking at, and why are his hands clasped so close to his chest?
Looks kinda creepy to me.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI was the one who discovered this on June 4th, took a screenshot (when I couldn't get the sign in page to repeat I figured out about the cookie), and made a video

I sent this to conservative blogs but only a few bit like Doug Ross and Nice Deb.
Will it go any where? Doubtful. Not even too many conservatives seem to care.
