From the first Morning Jolt of the week… By the way, from June 20 to 24, there will be no Jolt, so adjust your caffeine intake accordingly.
President Obama’s Bunker Mentality
So where was the President this weekend, anyway? Where would we begin to look FORE him – eh, you saw that joke coming from a couple hundred yards away, huh?
Keith Koffler, of White House Dossier, notices, “I know this will be surprising to everyone, but the president has gone golfing. This is the last chance for him to practice before next week’s smackdown with House Speaker Boehner. The foursome will also include Vice President Biden and John Kasich, Ohio’s Republican governor. Kasich, a former senior GOP House member who worked closely with Boehner for many years, was chosen personally by the Speaker to be his second in the duel.
And, given that the king, the first in line and the second in line to the throne will all be in the same place for about five hours, LOTS of Secret Service will also be in tow. Today makes 11 weekends in a row that Obama has gone golfing. It’s his 14th outing this year and the 72nd of his presidency.”
UtahPrez at PoliPundit just can’t get his head around it: “I guess that I relate too much to my experiences in 2 greenfield startups of manufacturing businesses and 5 turn-arounds of declining companies or groups. I know how I reacted to the pressures of businesses in crisis and how I worked for hours and days on end to make those events successful. I know that it took complete dedication, focus and personal sacrifice to make it work…seems that I don’t remember too many golf breaks (actually none) until the job was done. Given the situation that this country is in, to see any of our elected officials on the golf course, Republican or Democrat, indicates to me a level of seriousness and dedication that is significantly less than I would give if it was me in their golf shoes. I’m sorry, I just don’t get it.”
Hey, you know who hasn’t played golf for 11 straight weekends? Tiger Woods.
At lest Nero could fiddle...

Barack just plays one on TV (or most anyplace else he happens to be).
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLeave it to Jim to pick out the least newsworthy, least interesting part of the Jolt. But I did enjoy the take on Politico's Smith and Hugh Hewitt spatting over Smith's description of Romney's support. Newsworthy, no, but interesting and consequential, yes. HH's credibility is really taking some hits lately with his Mittdolatry act. As for Drudge, I find him a little too 20th century at this point. Glad I stopped reading. Strange having to applaud Politico over Hewitt and Drudge.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThere are many things I don't like about Obama's policies. However, weekly golf is something I like - it always cleared my mind. And even if it meant he was doing nothing, I would rather he play golf seven days a week instead of pushing his legislation and making his appointments.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThere's a precisely 0% chance that any decision made by Obama would fail to be anything less than a complete disaster for the country. Therefore, the more time he spends chasing little balls around a golf course, or big balls around a basketball court, the better off we all are. If only he'd bring Harry Reid along with him...
Two and a half years into his reign, the only good decision he's made so far has been his selection of Bo as first dog. (turns out the decision for the Bin Laden raid was made for him).
