In Syria, Assad Holds a Three-Hour Meeting With... Who?

It really is all or nothing with the Obama administration.

Not long ago, the Washington Post looked at what Obama and his administration had actually done after the president’s bold pledges to help the Syrian people’s struggle against a brutal and oppressive regime of Bashar al-Assad, and concluded his work can be summarized in a single word: “nothing.”

Today, we learn that Assad has been subjected to a three hour meeting with Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-District To Be Named Later.

I know Assad and his regime killed more than thousand people during this uprising (so far), but does even he deserve to listen to Kucinich for three hours? Couldn’t he have been given the option of something gentler, like water-boarding?

Jokes aside, it appears that as misguided as Kucinich’s outreach to Assad is, he’s done more on Syria than the president has.
