A bit of a shocker over in the Corner: former presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty endorses Mitt Romney.
Take a guess on which issue does not get mentioned in Pawlenty’s endorsement. Hint: It rhymes with “Obamneycare.”
As hard as Pawlenty tried to be the anti-Romney of the race, in the end the polls and the Ames Straw Poll results suggested he was actually occupying the same space as Romney, just without the donors, name ID and poll numbers.
He is not a man of conviction and this proves it. Hope Romneycare can enjoy the 1% of votes Pawlenty will bring him. Ugh....

Funny, that 2% candidate was praised endlessly by the DC-NYC conservative punditry and Washington insiders. In the end, that did not matter one bit. Nor will this endorsment.
The only endorsment that matters at this point is Sarah Palin's.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI don't think that's entirely true. Jinal's is nice. I think Haley Barbor will be important, too - and I suspect he leans Perry. Chris Christie will be huge (no fat jokes). But yes, Palin is the big cheese and her endorsement alone could radically change the shape of things - that is, IF she choose someone other than Perry. But if she does endorse Perry, I suspect that will be more like icing than cake.

I'm not sure how it's a shocker -- maybe that is meant in jest?
I expect all the endorsements from the establishment folks will be for Romney at this point.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo shocker here at all. One governor who was fiscally responsible as governor endorses another who was as well (both Romney and Pawlenty held spending growth below the rate of inflation during their tenure).
That stands in stark contrast to the governor from Texas who nearly doubled government spending and tripled the state debt of Texas.
Not to mention, helping to open the flood gates to illegal immigrants by offering taxpayer dollars to go to college for illegals who come here and opposing efforts to curb illegal immigration by opposing the border fence, e-verify and Arizona style enforcement measures.

I've heard some conflicting stories on the spending.
How much of the increased spending was because of a public mandate? That is, a referendum on the ballot that the people approved?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf Romney gets the nomination, both candidates for President will have run for President opposing an individual mandate, and both candidates will have signed an individual mandate into law.
