Obama: Better Off Now Than Four Years Ago? Define ‘Better.’

Asked if Americans are better off now than they were four years ago, Obama moves the goalposts:

Talking to WCCO-TV of Minnesota, Obama said:

Well, you know, I think we are better off now than we would have been if I hadn’t taken all the steps that we took. I don’t think the country is stronger yet then it was when the economy was still booming and we didn’t have Wall Street crisis, and we didn’t have the housing bubble burst. But, we’ve made steady progress, we just need to make more.

The follow-up question is obvious. "what specific actions did you take that John McCain did not advocate, and how would his outcome have put us in a worse situation?" What can he say? Stimulus? ObamaCare? Gays in the Military? The only thing he can point to is drones and surge. two good decisions, that one could argue that McCain may not have signed on to, however, can he win the argument that he is better on FP athan McCain could have been? I think not.
