Bachmann: I’m in a Statistical Dead Heat, a.k.a. Fourth Place!

Michele Bachmann e-mails me (and everyone else on her campaign e-mail list):

Dear Fellow Conservative,

As one of my most loyal supporters I wanted you to be the first to know this exciting news. In a We Ask America poll just released today, our campaign is only four points behind Ron Paul for first place in Iowa!

We are in a statistical dead heat for the Iowa caucuses and I need your immediate support to push my campaign over the top!

I know with your support and prayers our campaign can prove victorious in January. Iowa is where Barack Obama’s campaign began and it is where it will end- when our campaign wins the first-in-the-nation caucuses!

Maybe “We Ask America” is ahead of the curve, but other recent polls have shown Bachmann nowhere near a “statistical dead heat”.

The first three polls were conducted at the beginning of the week; the KCRG one was conducted over ten days with a fairly small sample. So perhaps Bachmann really is starting to climb.

However, her “statistical dead heat” still has her in fourth place in the We Ask America results. She’s at 15 percent, Gingrich is at 16 percent, Romney is at 18 percent and Paul is at 19 percent.

I guess for those trailing, beggars can’t be choosers when it comes to good news.

She meant to write "dead meat." Innocent typo - could happen to anybody.

Michelle had so much promise and potential before this strange decision to run for the Presidency. Just like the push to gain a House leadership position, it just seemed rushed. She lacks executive experience, accomplishment, political influence, etc.

It seemed an entirely fashionable offering, but one never knows. Before entering the Primary, she held a great deal of respect, and perhaps her offering could have been so substantive, it would be powerful.

Unfortunately for all, it proved to be the opposite. Michelle was quickly revealed to lack substance, relying on very superficial cliche and stereotype. The term "fight" repeated over and over is never going to be a serious Presidential Campaign. Her swift turn to slander the record of Mr. Pawlenty in that early debate also exposed a contradiction with the conservative principle of "ethics".

Ms. Bachmann has continued this pattern, woefully blistering her fellow GOP candidates, in pure desperation. It is all regretful. This new shell game playing on the image of conservatism, is providing terribly weak political offerings. And it continues to sink many in the wake. Even the recent House efforts in regards to this Payroll manipulation, was poorly considered primarily due to a number stuck in fashion over serious reason and ability.

One can only hope Iowa and other States get it right. But the forces pushing for pure self destruction seem to be really lost. Mrs. Bachmann is a prime example of the continued loss.

The 'We Ask America' poll has, among young voters age 18-24, going 50% to Bachmann vs 18% to Paul. Seriously, who believes that

Instead of trying to elevate herself, Bachman tried to bring her opponents down to her level. Her bitchy attacks on Gingrich and Perry were despicable, and they cost her. Adios fool.
