Final Official Results in Iowa . . . Arrive in Two Weeks!

Mitt Romney won the Iowa caucuses by a razor-thin margin . . . or did he?

A southern Iowa supporter of Texas Rep. Ron Paul has filed a notarized statement claiming former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is the real winner. Edward L. True has informed the Republican Party of Iowa there was a 20-vote error in the caucus results from Appanoose County.

According to True, the number of votes Romney received from Washington Wells Precinct in Appanoose County was inflated by 20 when recorded by the state GOP.

True said he helped count the votes and kept a record of the outcome to post to the Ron Paul Facebook pages. He noticed the error when he looked at the state GOP website.

If his claim is accurate, then Santorum would be the winner with 30,007 votes to 29,995, rather than 30,015, for Romney.

(If you’re going to make an accusation like this, it’s good to have a name like “Edward True.” Whether or not his claim is factually correct, no one can dispute he has offered a True statement.)

Iowa GOP chairman Matt Strawn issued a statement regarding Appanoose County caucus results:

Iowa GOP rules provide for a two-week certification process for each of the 1,774 precincts.  The Iowa GOP will announce the final, certified results of the 2012 Iowa Caucuses following this process. Out of respect to the candidates involved, party officials we will not respond to every rumor, innuendo or allegation during the two week process.  That said, Iowa GOP officials have been in contact with Appanoose County Republican officials tonight and do not have any reason to believe the final, certified results of Appanoose County will change the outcome of Tuesday’s vote.

It is fun...

But hardly takes away Romney's sincere victory in Iowa. We all know the bias, the passionate push some will make quite unethically to deny the win.

Ironically, this absurd claim, only reminds everyone Romney won, while many were busy trying to sell Americans on the idea the story was Santorum. Rick made news, but the big picture was indeed Romney winning.

We continue to see many on the sound side lose credibility. Mr. Walsh bizarrely tried to claim because Romney got 25% of the vote in Iowa, this means he has 75% of the opposition in the USA. All the while ignoring by this mindless concept, that too would make Santorum's, Perry's, Gingrich's, etc., opposition at overwhelming levels.

Of course, none of it is true, but one has to wonder how a voice like this was allowed to write for the NR. It is embarrassing.
