The National Republican Senatorial Committee would like to remind Nebraskans that Bob Kerrey, currently contemplating a bid to return to the Senate, has been living in New York for the past decade.
With Ben Nelson suddenly retiring, Democrats are desperate for a Senate candidate . . . and they might be willing to plumb the depths of the free-agent market, so to speak.
There must be something to this story. When he was Senator in the past and candidate for President in 2000(?) I always thought him well-reasoned and considered him fairly conservative.
His life-changing admission regarding his time in VietNam of killing women and children during a mission they shouldn't have been on seems to have changed him. The poor guy fell apart and fell out of the race. At the time he was my Democrat preferred candidate.
Lately, he is all liberal and progressive- or in other words, Mr. New York, like the ad says.
I really doubt he will get traction in Nebraska after such a long hiatus.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNew York state has been importing senators for a while (RFK, Hillary). Maybe they can export one for a change.
