Post-debate memo to Moms and Dads with offspring contemplating dumping loot into a journalism degree: Wake the hell up! Have the kid read a little Chesterton, or John Adams, or Steyn, and then go off to a diner or a junkyard for a couple of years and get a little dirt under the fingernails. At that point, you might be competent to sit on stage and ask questions not dredged from the inner cavities of your vast pretensions.

Why can't Republicans do their own primary debates? Barack and Hillary boycotted Fox. Why can't the GOP have an NRO debate, a Hot Air debate (that was DeTechGuy's idea), say a debate with Rush, Levin and Malkin? Mix it up. Do a few network debates too (you have to be ready for the general), but the whole point of primary debates is to educate primary voters. You do not get that when varies networks are just trying to promote themselves, help Barack Obama, or promote themselves and help Barack Obama.
